About this floor box
This floor box puts power and data connections in the floor, so cables come up through a neat, flush outlet instead of trailing across the room. A low profile lid closes over the sockets when you are not using them, and the galvanized steel base has knockouts for conduit entry.
Power and data in one box
The box holds up to four 13A UK standard sockets, which is the socket type used in the UAE, and two modular openings that take keystone data jacks. It also fits other modular inserts, so you can set it up for the connections the space needs.
Flush, low profile lid
The lid sits level with the floor and closes with a secure click lock, so it stays tidy and out of the way.
Strong galvanized steel base
The base is galvanized steel with multiple knockouts, so conduit can enter from several sides. The lid is ABS plastic.
Where to use it
Offices and meeting rooms. Conference rooms and workstations. Showrooms, shops, and reception areas. Living rooms and open plan spaces where you want sockets in the middle of the floor. Raised floors and concrete floors.
Common questions
What is a floor box used for? A floor box puts power sockets and data ports in the floor, so you get outlets in the middle of a room without running cables across the floor. It is common under desks, meeting tables, and in open plan spaces.
How many sockets and data ports does it hold? It holds up to four 13A UK standard sockets and two keystone compatible data openings.
What can I put in the keystone data ports? Keystone openings take standard keystone jacks, such as network jacks for Cat5e or Cat6, and HDMI, USB, or TV jacks. You buy the jacks you need separately.
Can power and data go in the same floor box? Yes, this box has separate compartments for the power sockets and the data ports, which keeps them apart. The wiring should still be done by a qualified electrician, who will keep power and data cables separated.
How deep does the floor need to be? The box is 75 mm high, so the floor needs a recess at least that deep, with room for the cables coming in through the knockouts. It is made for flush mounting in raised floors and concrete floors.
Can I walk on it or roll a chair over it? It is rated medium duty and the lid sits flush with the floor. No load figure is listed, so check with us before using it in a heavy traffic area or under wheeled loads such as trolleys.
Is a floor box waterproof? No water resistance rating is listed for this box, so do not use it where the floor is washed with water or in wet areas.
Are 13A sockets right for the UAE? Yes, 13A UK standard sockets are the standard in the UAE, so normal UAE plugs fit.
Do the sockets come with the box? Message us on WhatsApp to confirm which sockets and data modules are included with the box.
