Black Marble Disc Pendant Light 28cm - Natural Stone, E27, 200cm Cord

A 28 cm disc of black marble suspended on a 200 cm adjustable cord. Light falls straight down from the open underside while the stone stays dark and solid above it — the fitting reads as a heavy object, not a lampshade.

The marble

Natural stone, not a coated or printed finish. Black marble carries pale grey veining that varies piece to piece, so no two are identical and the pattern on yours will not match the photographs exactly. That's the material.

It is also genuinely heavy for its size. The mounting kit is supplied, but the ceiling point needs to be sound — this is not something to hang from a plasterboard fixing without a proper anchor.

Where 28 cm works

At 28 cm across and 14.5 cm deep, it sits in the middle ground: substantial enough to anchor a table on its own, small enough to hang in a pair without crowding.

• Single, over a dining table up to about 90 cm wide, or over a breakfast bar
• In a pair, over a kitchen island — the usual spacing suits two at this size
• Bedside, hung low as an alternative to a table lamp, freeing the surface

The usual rule for a pendant over a table is that the diameter should be roughly a third to a half the width of the table. At 28 cm that puts you comfortably on a 60–90 cm table, or two over a longer island.

Hanging height

The cord is 200 cm and adjustable to your ceiling.

• Over a dining table: 75–90 cm from the tabletop to the bottom of the shade
• Over a kitchen island: 75–85 cm from the counter
• In a pair: 60–75 cm between pendants, and keep them at least 15 cm inside the ends of the island
• In a corridor or entryway: at least 210 cm from the floor

The light

The underside is open, so light falls in a defined pool directly below rather than spreading across the room. That makes it a task and dining light — good over a surface, not a substitute for ambient lighting.

Use a warm 2700–3000K bulb. Cool white against black marble reads cold and flattens the veining.

Dimmable, provided both the bulb and the wall switch support it. Neither is included.

Where it works

Kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars, bedside, and above a reading chair. Suits modern, industrial and minimalist rooms where a dark, solid fitting is the point.

Before you order

One pendant per order. The lifestyle photographs show two or three hung together — those are staged. Order the quantity you want.

This is hardwired. It connects to a ceiling point, not a plug, and installation should be done by a qualified electrician with the power isolated.

Check the ceiling fixing. Marble is heavy. A standard plasterboard fixing is not enough.
